Essex mum loses 2 stone in 2 weeks with “next-gen coffee booster” — Slimming World consultants and NHS dietitians left gobsmacked

52-year-old Karen Mitchell’s viral transformation has Good Morning Britain viewers asking: “Why didn’t anyone tell us about this sooner?”

A next-gen detox helping Brits shed stubborn weight
Karen Mitchell, 52, from Brentwood, Essex — before and after discovering what she calls "the best-kept secret in British wellness."

"We've done what everyone said couldn't be done." That's exactly how the announcement landed at a major wellness summit in London, when a team of leading British nutritionists unveiled what experts are now calling "THE MOST DISRUPTIVE WEIGHT-LOSS BREAKTHROUGH IN BRITISH HISTORY."

DIETITIANS GOBSMACKED. PERSONAL TRAINERS FUMING. SLIMMING WORLD CONSULTANTS IN DISBELIEF.

Shedding up to 2 stone in 2 weeks without flogging yourself at the gym, following punishing Slimming World meal plans, or waiting 18 months on the NHS for weight loss jabs used to sound like a pipe dream.

Today, it's actually happening — and the viral transformation of 52-year-old Karen Mitchell from Essex has been all over Good Morning Britain and Mumsnet.

After Karen's story went viral, several industry bodies called for an "urgent review," questioning how a simple coffee booster could deliver results rivalling surgeries costing anywhere from £6,000 to £15,000 .

Karen's transformation in just 2 weeks
Just 2 weeks — down 2 stone. No Slimming World. No gym. No waiting for NHS referrals.

THE "HIDDEN-IN-PLAIN-SIGHT" WEIGHT-LOSS SECRET BRITS WERE NEVER TOLD ABOUT

18 months of development at a Cambridge research facility. 84 active botanicals. 11 British nutrition scientists bound by strict NDAs.

The result? A world-first coffee booster formula that flicks on your body's natural "metabolic switch," triggering intense fat burning — even while you're tucked up watching telly.

"THE PHOTO THAT BROKE ME… AND THE COFFEE BOOSTER THAT GAVE ME MY LIFE BACK"

Karen's story has struck a chord with thousands of British women battling the same frustrations.

"At my daughter's wedding in a lovely barn venue in the Cotswolds, the photographer asked me to stand at the back so my weight wouldn't 'throw off the composition'. Two weeks after starting this coffee booster, I slipped into my old Next jeans I hadn't worn since my thirties."

— Karen Mitchell, Brentwood, Essex
Karen Mitchell's wedding photo moment

Six months ago, my confidence hit rock bottom. The photographer hesitated to position me next to my daughter, then actually said: "Would you mind standing behind? The extra weight won't photograph well. "

The entire bridal party fell dead silent . My daughter grabbed my hand and whispered, "Mum sits right next to me."

He apologised, but the damage was done. I spent the rest of the reception ducking cameras and crying in the loo, missing the first dance.

I stopped looking in mirrors altogether. I hated what I saw — a bloated, knackered woman with a double chin and a mum-tum that wouldn't shift. Years of grabbing a Costa and a pastry on the way to work, living on Tesco meal deals because I was too shattered to cook, comfort eating my way through boxes of Cadbury Fingers in front of Gogglebox — and then perimenopause hit like a freight train. The hot flushes, the brain fog, the weight creeping on no matter what I did. My GP just said "it's your age" and suggested I "eat less, move more." Every January I'd join Slimming World again. Every March I'd give up.

I asked my GP about Wegovy, but the NHS waiting list was 14 months. Going private would cost £300 a month — forever. Three plastic surgeons quoted me on lipo, a tummy tuck and a chin lift — around £16,500 all up, plus six weeks off work . With bills to pay and no sick leave left, it felt impossible.

I was on the verge of taking out a loan when my daughter's maid of honour rang. Her cousin works at a Harley Street wellness clinic and whispered:

— I've got access to something they're trialling with their celebrity clients. It's not in Boots or Holland & Barrett yet. Just give it a go…

"I thought it was just another gimmick… then I woke up the next morning and barely recognised myself."

"They're calling it 'liposuction in a box' ," my mate said. "Honestly, the before-and-afters are unreal."

I was sceptical, to say the least.

After three decades of fad diets and empty promises, I was completely over it. But what did I have to lose?

That night around 11 pm, I brewed my first cuppa of Wellaray , followed the simple instructions, and headed off to bed — completely unaware that everything was about to change .

The next morning, I shuffled into the bathroom, flicked on the light — and gasped so loudly I woke my daughter down the hall.

My silhouette looked different. The scales showed 1.1 kg down overnight! I figured it was just water weight. A week later, I was down nearly a stone.

Karen's visible transformation
The mum-tum I'd been hiding under baggy cardigans had visibly deflated .

My love handles were practically gone . The loose skin on my back and lower tummy had tightened up noticeably . I looked LEANER, my skin felt SMOOTHER — like I'd shed years, not just pounds .

I ran my hands along my waist — it was smaller, more defined . My daughter came running in from her old bedroom. She stopped dead. "Mum… WHAT THE BLOODY HELL?"

For the first time in years, I actually smiled at my reflection .

Karen's confidence returning

By day 14, I zipped up a dress from Phase Eight I'd chucked in the loft a decade ago. The stubborn mum-tum that ruined every outfit had virtually vanished . My hips looked smoother, skin felt silky soft. The bingo wings and back fat had firmed right up — like I'd had proper work done.

The back rolls I'd been hiding under baggy M&S cardigans for decades ? Gone.

On day 14, I decided to put it to the test — I popped round to my sister's in Romford. She knows every freckle on my face. She literally screamed.

"Kaz, did you get lipo?! " She dragged me in front of her hallway mirror. "You look like you did when we went to Ibiza in 2005! Who's your surgeon?"

When I told her I'd just been drinking Wellaray at home, she flat-out didn't believe me until I showed her the box. The transformation was so dramatic that the Wellaray team asked if they could publish my results .

Now when I'm out with my daughter for cocktails in Westfield, I actually get compliments. That same photographer who tried to hide me at the wedding? He did my new LinkedIn headshots and asked if I'd had "gastric sleeve or something". I told him it was Wellaray. He ordered three boxes — for himself, his wife and his mum .

It's about more than just looking slimmer — Wellaray gave me my confidence back . I feel like the old me again, before the kids, before the stress, before everything piled on. I'm forever grateful.

Karen's complete transformation

THE SURGICAL-LEVEL SOLUTION MAKING £12,000 LIPO LOOK OUTDATED

This breakthrough works in FOUR powerful ways — and traditional surgery simply can't compete:

How Wellaray works on belly fat
Natural ingredients in Wellaray
Blocking fat storage

So you'll likely notice:

  • Your appetite easing naturally — without exhausting willpower battles
  • Fewer sugar cravings and late-night snack attacks
  • More energy, a brighter mood, and more consistent days
Feeling full and in control

"We didn't want to create another 'diet product'. We wanted to achieve the impossible: help people lose 1.5-2.5 stone without boot camps, crash diets or surgery — no health risks, no recovery time — while actually supporting skin health and overall wellbeing. We absolutely nailed that brief."

— Dr. James Ashworth, British metabolism specialist and lead contributor to the Wellaray formula

Why Brits say it "just fits into real life"

Since Wellaray became available to the public, thousands of women have been sharing their before-and-afters right across Britain — from Birmingham to Brighton, from Leeds to Liverpool:

Dawn from Manchester transformation
Dawn, 49, Manchester: "Down half a stone in my first week. Perimenopause had me raiding the biscuit tin after Corrie every single night — that's completely stopped. Even my husband's noticed I'm not demolishing the Hobnobs anymore!"
Sarah from Birmingham success story
Sarah, 43, Birmingham: "My Slimming World syns tracking completely fell apart over Easter — too many hot cross buns and Cadbury Mini Eggs. But Wellaray kept working. Down nearly 2 stone in a month!"
Michelle from Leeds jeans success
Michelle, 51, Leeds: "Back into my Topshop jeans from 2008. My husband nearly fell off his chair when I came downstairs. Absolutely chuffed!"
Linda from Bristol age-defying results
Linda, 58, Bristol: "My GP thought I'd had surgery. I'm 58, well past menopause, and I feel like I did in my 30s. Best £30 I've ever spent — cheaper than one session of those Ozempic jabs everyone's banging on about!"

The British reality: why weight loss is so hard here — and how Wellaray helps

Britain has one of the highest obesity rates in Europe — nearly two-thirds of adults are now classified as overweight or obese. And the consequences are serious: increased risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, fatty liver, joint problems, sleep apnoea, and even certain cancers.

  • Long commutes, shift work, office jobs — real British life makes it nearly impossible to stick to a routine
  • Sunday roasts, pub lunches, Friday takeaways — social eating is part of our culture, and the calories stack up fast
  • Perimenopause, menopause, thyroid issues, and midlife hormonal shifts — after 40, your body clings to fat like never before, and the weight just won't budge
  • Knee pain, plantar fasciitis, sleep apnoea, chronic fatigue — when your body hurts, exercise feels impossible
  • Grey weather and dark evenings — miserable conditions trigger cravings and comfort eating
  • Cost of living crisis — when healthy food costs a fortune, processed convenience food wins
  • The sandwich generation squeeze — juggling work, teenagers or grown-up kids, and ageing parents leaves zero energy for self-care
  • Menopause and midlife hormonal chaos — hot flushes, brain fog, disrupted sleep, and a metabolism that's gone on strike

Wellaray slots seamlessly into the British lifestyle — just one easy cuppa a day — so you can chip away at stubborn weight without overhauling your entire life.

Wellness clinics around the world have now documented its effectiveness.

By the end of , countless women in their 40s, 50s and beyond are expected to ditch restrictive diets and expensive cosmetic procedures in favour of this simple formula.

IMAGINE THIS — BY TOMORROW MORNING

You catch your reflection in the mirror and see a silhouette you haven't seen in decades :

  • Smoother sides and love handles shrinking
  • A flatter, less bloated tummy
  • A leaner, more defined face and jawline
  • Smaller measurements — with your natural curves still intact
  • The number on the scales finally trending down

Picture slipping into a fitted dress from M&S without Spanx — and actually looking better than when you were hiding under oversized cardigans and tunics.

Imagine saving thousands of pounds on meal-prep services, gym memberships, and cosmetic procedures — while achieving better results . No sweat-drenched gym sessions. No calorie-counting spirals. No stress.

Anyone from the UK actually tried this? I'm 48 and my GP put me on an 18-month waiting list for the NHS weight management clinic. Asked about Wegovy but apparently there's a national shortage. Can't wait that long — perimenopause is piling on the pounds. Need real experiences please!

Noticed a difference within the first week honestly – less bloating, more energy, and the brain fog from peri lifted a bit too. By week 4 I'd dropped over a stone. You'll smash that wedding hun! xx

Christine, that's brilliant! How long before you noticed proper results? I've got my niece's wedding in Cornwall in 3 months and desperate to shift at least 2 stone. Everything slowed right down since I hit my late 40s x

Sarah, I'm from Birmingham and I'm 51. Honestly this has been better than anything I tried before – Slimming World, WW, the 5:2, even those meal replacement shakes from Holland & Barrett. Finally something that actually works at our age! xx

Mum of 3 from Manchester here, just turned 44. Started the coffee booster while still having my Greggs sausage roll at lunch and lost over a stone! Don't have to drag myself to Pure Gym after work anymore. Between the kids' after-school clubs, looking after my mum, and this miserable weather, it's been a proper godsend. Highly recommend to any knackered mums over 40! x

Just ordered from Leeds. I'm 53 and put on 3 stone during lockdown — WFH, too many Tesco meal deals, Costa runs, and a biscuit habit that got completely out of hand. Then menopause kicked in and the weight just won't budge. My GP just says "eat less, move more" — if only it were that simple! At 15 stone now and feeling rubbish. Really hoping this helps where everything else has failed.

Interesting but how does it actually work? Sounds too good to be true tbh. I'm 46 and been burned by so many things advertised on Facebook before — apple cider vinegar, CBD oil, those keto drops from Instagram. Bit skeptical...

Lauren, I was the same — complete skeptic at 49. But my sister-in-law in Bristol recommended it and I thought sod it, what have I got to lose apart from the weight! It speeds up your metabolism which is exactly what slows down in your 40s. Stops the 3pm biscuit raids at my desk too. Shifted the muffin top I've had since having the kids 20 years ago. Worth every penny honestly x

Dead easy to use – just pop the kettle on like you would for a normal cuppa of Yorkshire Tea. Having it instead of my usual brew before breakfast and dinner. Only been a week but I feel less bloated than I have in years. The brain fog's lifted a bit too which is a bonus at 52! Got the discount through the quiz – every penny counts with the cost of everything these days!

Did the quiz and got a proper good discount – cheers for that! I'm 46 and been meaning to sort myself out for ages. Delivery was quick too, Royal Mail got it here in 2 days. No messing about like Amazon these days!

Bloke from Liverpool here, 47 – not just for the ladies! Put on loads working an office job in the city centre. Hit that age where the beer belly just wouldn't shift no matter what. This stuff actually works. Feel sharper during my commute on the Merseyrail, more energy at the weekend to keep up with the grandkids. Down nearly 2 stone. Proper made up!

Finally!!! Saw this mentioned on Mumsnet ages ago but couldn't find where to buy it. I'm 45 and since peri started I've gone up 2 dress sizes. So glad I found this article – did the quiz, got my discount. Can't wait to not dread trying on swimsuits for our holiday to Majorca! x

Was 16 stone 10 before starting – proper dad bod situation at 50. Office job in Canary Wharf, Deliveroo every night because I'm knackered from the commute. Tried the gym but my knees aren't what they were. The wife watches This Morning religiously and saw something about metabolism slowing after 40 — that's me to a T. This coffee booster is different – no effort required really. Few weeks in and I'm seeing the old me in the mirror. Even the wife's noticed!

Absolute game changer at 54! NHS kept fobbing me off, GP wouldn't even discuss Wegovy. Couldn't afford to go private at £300 a month for those weight loss jabs everyone's banging on about. This actually works and doesn't cost the earth. Down 2 stone in six weeks – can finally pop into M&S and not dread the changing room mirrors 😂 xx

Have you lot tried just eating less? Portion control? Sorry but I don't get how a coffee booster can do what proper diet and exercise can't. Sounds like those UPF detox things Dr Chris van Tulleken warned about...

Wendy with respect that's a bit ignorant. Some of us have thyroid issues, have gone through menopause, are dealing with HRT side effects. I'm 56, eat like a bird and still can't shift it. Davina McCall did a whole documentary about how menopause changes your body completely. Not everything is about willpower love. This coffee booster has helped where my GP couldn't x

Been using Wellaray for 2 years now! Started when I was 48 at my heaviest — menopause, empty nest, the lot. Lost 2 and a half stone, now just use it to maintain. Half the ladies at my book club in Surrey are on it now 😂 We're all in our late 40s and 50s and it just works for our age group. Not exactly a secret anymore! BEFORE & AFTER xx

Love that you get a discount for answering the questions. Nice change from companies just taking your money! Ordered mine to Cardiff — I'm 47 and my metabolism's been shot since I hit 40. Fingers crossed this is the one that works 🤞 x

Desperately need help! I'm 50 and WFH for 2 years now, sitting at my kitchen table in Newcastle living on digestives and cups of coffee. Put on nearly 2 stone since hitting menopause. Can't do Slimming World – too embarrassing getting weighed in front of everyone at my age. Tried Couch to 5K but my joints are killing me. Is this actually going to work for someone like me?? x

Reading all these comments from women our age all over the UK – Scotland, Wales, everywhere – gives me proper hope. Been yo-yo dieting since my 20s (52 now!). Slimming World, Rosemary Conley, the cabbage soup diet, Lighter Life — tried the lot over the years. Maybe this is finally the answer for us midlifers. Thanks everyone for sharing your stories ❤️ xx

Just had my DPD delivery! I'm 48 and the before and after photos on here from women my age are absolutely mental. If I can look half as good as some of you by summer I'll be happy. Got my first holiday without the kids in years — the Algarve here I come! 🏖️ Will update in a few weeks! x
